Bacterial symbioses are ubiquitous and provide eukaryotes a broad array of resources and services. Yet the benefits that these symbionts deliver to hosts are not automatic or fixed. Bacteria have a tremendous evolutionary advantage over hosts in terms of generation time and population size.

The Fall 2025 Biology Seminar Series continues with a talk from Dr. Junyan Ding, "Tree Hydraulic Strategies and Tropical Forest Dynamics."

The Spring 2024 Biology Seminar Series commences with a talk from Julia Mackin-McLaughlin, "Spatial distribution of benthic flora and fauna of costal Placentia Bay, an ecologically and biologically significant area of the Island of Newfoundland, Atlantic Canada."
