The John Branca Institute for Music is devoted to the study of popular music and the music industry, understood as everything from songwriting, recording, producing, and live performance, to building and running a company, marketing, and negotiating contracts, to the history of popular music and its impact on and reflection of society.
Through educational and industry partnerships, course development and sponsorship, networking and internship opportunities, conferences and publications, visiting artists and speakers, and an immersive summer camp, all within the framework of a rigorous liberal arts education, the Institute seeks to develop a pipeline for students wanting to pursue a career in the music industry and to give them the tools to be the creative leaders of the music industry of tomorrow.
